"Good Readers are the Foundation
of Economic Success" C. Tripp/Founder
Welcome
The Institute (IFEDOC) provides a safe environment inThe Institute for the Economic Development of which each student can feel secure and can learn consistent with his/her academic needs.
IFEDOC Mission Statement
"The core mandate of the Institute for the Economic Development of Children (IFEDOC) is to serve children and youth reading two to three years below grade level that deprives the opportunity for academic success. Below grade level readers are at risk of dropping out of school, ongoing high suspension rates, skipping classes, and low self-esteem. Through explicit in-person individual, and small group instruction the children develop decoding, fluency, comprehension, writing, and spelling skills. The children and youth acquire measurable reading progression, self-confidence, rising grades, better classroom behavior, ability to work independently, and the desire to engage in class. These students will have the opportunity to achieve academic success and become productive citizens." C. Tripp/Founder
